Inside My Home Gym
Favorite Equipment for Every Workout
When it comes to training, having the right equipment makes all the difference. My home gym is stocked with tried-and-true essentials, fun new additions, and a few underrated gems. Here’s a peek at what I use with my clients—and why I love it!
🔥 Most Used: The Hip Circle Band
If there’s one piece of equipment I grab in almost every session, it’s the hip circle band. Whether we’re warming up, activating muscles, or adding a little extra burn to lower-body exercises, this small but mighty band never fails.
💪 Most Versatile: TRX
Suspension training is a game-changer, and the TRX is hands-down the most versatile tool in my gym. You can train strength, mobility, core stability, and even get a killer cardio workout—all with just one piece of equipment.
🛠 Old Trusty: Dumbbells (5, 8, 10, & 12 lbs)
These may not be the flashiest items in my gym, but they’re reliable, effective, and always in rotation. Whether we’re doing strength work or high-rep finishers, these classic weights never go out of style.
🆕 New & Exciting: BOSU Balance Ball Pods
These little pods have been such a fun addition! They’re great for balance work, core engagement, and adding a stability challenge to traditional exercises. Plus, they keep things interesting!
⚖️ Good in Certain Settings: Skill Sliders
Sliders are a sneaky way to ramp up core and stability work, and they take up almost no space. I have this brand, but if you’re looking to buy, I’d recommend SKLZ sliders for the best grip and durability.
🧘♀️ And Last but Not Least: A Good Mat
A solid workout mat is non-negotiable. I recently upgraded, and it’s been a game-changer for comfort and support.
✨ Honorable Mention: Foam Roller
Recovery matters, but let’s be real—most of us (myself included) don’t prioritize it enough. If you struggle to make time for foam rolling, put it somewhere visible and actually use it. Your muscles will thank you!
So, whether you're building a home gym or just looking to add a few key pieces, these are my go-to favorites. Have a favorite piece of equipment I should check out? Let me know!
